…Every sight and every sound

I was cleaning the bathroom the other day, and I heard these two birds just outside the window. They were squawking up a storm as they cleaned out the back gutter. (They do a beautiful job when they empty the gutters each year.) Then one squawked as the other gathered and brought building materials to and fro. The other took the materials and built this two bedroom ranch. (Hopefully they left out the whirlpool; so that when it rains heavily the babies do not fall through the drain sprout.) And I thought to myself, married life -playing house, back here again and she is already going to -#itch, #itch, #itch, #itch; #itch, #itch, #itch, #itch.

Love is in the air…

Do you remember your first crush? All you had to do was pass by that special someone that gave you goose bumps when you looked at them and you giggled, got sweaty palms or just developed an adrenaline rush. Thank goodness there was not an exchange of words or you would have just melted all over the floor. Or maybe, you would have passed out releasing all of your bodily fluids; thus creating total humiliation and a need to move to another country.

How about your first love, the one that you thought would be forever and always? The one that started out as an all-time crush. Then the words were spoken, “Wanna go out?”; shaking, but you were still standing, nothing coming out of you. Then words came out of your mouth, from a voice deep inside (it did not even sound like you) and that ridiculous laugh started; as they say today, “OMG” (that is a new word in the dictionary, why write a sentence when abbreviations are words). Before you knew it the moment was gone, and you had your first date ahead of you. WHAT WILL I WHERE? The rest, just a blur.

Getting the tingles just from holding hands; laughing, sharing and cuddles. It was cloud nine, a slice of heaven and all that too! WOW – that first kiss, about a hundred things enter your mind but you just do not comprehend any of it. (Braces, which way to tilt your head, is your nose too big, what do I do with my gum) Bang! That was it you were just hooked on love. That is until someone in this relationship (check all that apply): [ ]needed space, [ ]found someone new or [ ]just–something that made no sense. In an instant your world came crashing down, no one knew or understood your pain and now you were destined to be alone for the rest of your life.

Although loves came, went and go, it is your first love that is still memorable, good or bad, you can recall it well. Mine still puts a smile on my face, even though I aged better than him. I am just saying– that is what high school reunions are all about, right?

Enjoy your Holidays and be well!
