A Summer Tomato Sandwich
a recipe that serves 2 by
Ingredients:
1 extra large beef steak tomato almost over ripe, or 2 medium beef steak tomatoes
4 slices of light white bread
2 tablespoon light mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Real Bacon Bits by Hormel, 50% less fat
pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Slice tomato thin, but not too thin, it should be a nice full slice.
2. Medium toast bread; bread should be browned.
3. Spread mayonnaise on all slice of bread.
4. Place 3-4 slices of tomato on two slice of bread.
5. Sprinkle pepper on top of tomato, then sprinkle one teaspoon of bacon bits on top of the each tomato topped slice of bread.
6. Cover each tomato and bacon topped slice of bread with a remaining slice of toasted bread with just mayonnaise on it. Cut in half and serve.
Note:
Coleslaw or lettuce can be added on top of the tomatoes and bacon if desired for a completely different taste. Serves nice with a pickle slice.
