Steamed Brussel Sprouts
a recipe that serves 2-4 by
Ingredients:
20 fresh Brussel sprouts, approximately 1 1/2″ to 2″ in diameter
1/2 tablespoon of salt sense table salt (33% less sodium)
Directions:
1. Rinse Brussel sprouts and remove any brown leaves.
2. Fill microwave steamer a 1/2″ over steamer basket bottom with water, add salt and mix with water.
3. Add Brussel sprouts and cover with steamer lid loosely covering steamer.
4. Cook in microwave on high power for 9 minutes. Remove lid carefully mix, recover and cook in microwave on high power for 9 minutes more.
Notes:
Serve with melted butter to drizzle on. Brussel sprouts should be fork soft, but not mushy to keep flavor at its’ peak.
